FOTD: Silver Taupey Smokey Feat. Nude'tude by The Balm

Hello There Ladies:

Happy Spooky day! Today is Friday the 13th it isn't very often when we get this date, some people have the superstition of being a spooky day, I just think that today is just another day!!!!

Well today I have a look for you girls. I recently made a review on this awesome palette which is the Balm Nude'tude palette which was launched sometime ago but I just got the time to review it.

Since most of the shades are wearable I did a wearable look for the office or even a night out with your girlfriends or even your special someone.

EYES:

1. Rimmel Undercover Eye Primer
2. Maybelline Color Tattoo in Too Cool
3. The Balm Nude'tude palette
- used selfish all over the lid and pass        the crease.
- used schitzo all over the crease used mainly as my transition shade
- used sleek on my outer 1/3 of the eye creating a V shape.
- used sassy as my highlight on the Browbone
4. Physicians Formula eyeliner
5. Wet n Wild ColorIcon in Mink Brown Used on waterline
6. Wet n Wild ColorIcon in Taupe used on eyebrows
7. Maybelline The Falsies Waterproof Mascara 2 coats.

I hope you have liked this look I came up using this palette, I really enjoy this palette a lot as it is so versatile and easy to use. The eyeshadows are so easy to blend and are so very pigmented if you don't own this palette I advise to go and get it. Until my next post thanks and take care xoxo

Maybelline EyeStudio Quad in 90 Irresistibly Ivy Swatches & Review

Hello There Beauties:

There is no doubt saying that I love Maybelline, they are ne of those companies that work so hard to maintain in their own pedestal. As you may know I love this little quads they are so versatile and the colors are to die for.

This is my second palette from them that I own, don't get me wrong I have 5 more quads in my makeup stash waiting there to be reviewed ;). The other palette that I reviewed was a LE quad called Green With Fashion which is a very nice quad with green shadows and such, as always I did a post here on how to wear the quad in your eyes.

This palette is not limited edition, is their permanent line which is good news if you want to get it. The shades on this palette are buttery smooth and really good color payoff on each shadow.

1. Is a Shimmery Champagne Beige
2. Is a Shimmery bronzey copper
3. Is a Shimmery greenish Teal
4. Is a shimmery Red, bronzey copper

By the swatches above you can see that the second shade looks a bit duochromy like a metallic yellowy orange on the second shot. This shades are so beautiful that you wouldn't believe they are drugstore. The downside is that they are powdery but with a swipe and doing your foundation last, you wouldn't even notice or bother you that there is fallout.

The packaging on these quads are quite flimsy with the couchy lid that sometimes doesn't shut properly. The backside gives you an idea on how to wear the colors on your eyes, along with the ingredients.

I am incredibly impress and happy that I own this quad. You can find these where Maybelline is sold for $8.99 but on sale you can grab it for $6.99 (if you are lucky, like I was)

I hope you have liked this post and please come back for more ... Take care and stay beautiful, don't forget to smile as that's the best tool you have xoxo

The Balm Nude'tude Eyeshadow Palette Review

Hello There Ladies:

Nowadays going nude or using toned down shades is the trend. Every cosmetic company has their own nude palette which is basically colors that are easy to wear but still giving you the ultimate weapon to look glamorous.

The Balm cosmetics is no exceptions and launched their own version of the Nude palette called Nude'tude. As you may know that Urban Decay was the one who started it all with their Naked Palette. not launching only one but two Naked palettes plus the Naked Basics Palette.

The Nude'tude palette contains 12 shades just as the UD Naked palettes. The Nude'tude is a bit unique for the reason that has a lot more daring colors that are easily to wear.

The first 6 shades are more wearable but the second six is more daring as for that sexy redish burgundy called Sexy or even that glittery dark plum called Silly.

I think that the Balm did a great job in the  packaging department as they did this sturdy and sleek and travel friendly palette, where you can take anywhere and not worried that your eyeshadows will get crush or damage.

Ok back to the shadows shall we?! As mentioned it has 12 eyeshadows to the advantage that each shadow has its name.

On the first row:

Sassy: is a frosted white
Stubborn: is a light medium peach
Selfish: is a frosted taupe mushrommy
Sophisticated: is a dark brown with bronze shimmer
Sexy: is a matte redish burgundy
Serious: is a matte medium dark black

On the second row:

Snobbyis a gold shimmery dark yellow
Stand-offish: is a bronze shimmery brown
Sultry: is a medium satiny brown
Schtitzo: is a goldeny bronzey brown
Silly: is a reddish brown with flecks of coppery sparkle.
Sleek: is a matte darkish black brown

This palette originally was introduced to the market back in 2011 but this is a palette that is going to be timeless because it has shades that are so universally flattering to any skin tone. This is sold at Sephora, at the balm cosmetics website, Nail Polish Canada, Rexall etc.

I personally bought it at Rexall for $36, Rexall carries the Balm cosmetics line.

Overall I am so very happy with my purchase, I had this palette for a while and I've been playing with it for quite sometime. You can recreate looks on so many levels from light to medium to dark, very easy to blend and amazing color payoff and are buttery smooth on most if not all shades.

I hope you have liked this post and made it through, take care and be creative!!!

FOTD: Cool As A Cucumber Feat. Wet n Wild Trio

Hello There Ladies:

Since summer came by and the temperatures starting to rise, I didn't do any full makeup just because where I work, my makeup gets melted even if i use the best primer in the market.

Now summer still not over yet but temperatures are much more cooler but it still feels like summer ... Do I make any sense?

Wet n Wild is one of my favorite brands just because is so freaking affordable and the quality of the shadows are such a good quality. I have done a couple of looks on previous trios like: Walking on Eggshells and Silent Treatment. I almost owned most of the trios so my goal is to show all of them.

EYES:

1. Urban Decay Primer Potion.
2. NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk
3. Wet n Wild Cool As A Cucumber
-Eyelid applied all over the lid passing over to the crease
-Crease color applied on half of the outer crease
-Browbone color applied in the inner corners for highlighting the area
4. NYX 10 Shadow Palette The Runway Collection in Champagne & Caviar
-Black Shadow applied on the outer V for smokiness
5. Wet n Wild Single Eyeshadow
-Brûlée applied on the Browbone area and blending all colors on the crease for more of a blended look and get rid of any harsh edges
6. Maybelline Collossal Mascara 2 coats
7. Marcelle Liquid Eyeliner Pen in olive
8. NYX Eyeliner Pencil in used on waterline
9. Wet n Wild Brow/Liner Pencil in Taupe used on brows.

I hope you have liked this post and maybe even buy this trio as the colors are awesome and very pigmented ... Thanks for reading and take care!!

Profound 24 Matte Eyeshadows Palette 1 Swatches & Review

Hello There Ladies:

For a long time I wanted to do a review on this palette. This palette has 24 matte eyeshadow, really where do you see a palette with that Many matte eyeshadows in one? Very rare.

Profound was nice enough to make this palette at a very low cost and good quality shadows. Due to this rarity you might be able to find it but if not just enjoyed this post ;)

The packaging is not the best but it isn't the worst either is not like it has broken already. There is a mirror inside with two dual ended sponge tip applicators (again useless in my opinion) but the mirror leaves a lot to be desired as it fell off already, I guess it could be fixable with a good sticky glue. I like the fact that al though is closed you can still see the eyeshadows peeking through little windows above each shadow, like seen in the picture below.

The eyeshadows has a potential for fallout, so when you apply this shadows it has to be in a padding motion rather than sweeping. The pigmentation is rather surprisingly good just because I expected that the pigmentation was going to be a little less pigmented and hard to blend but is not the issue.

These eyeshadows are so easy to blend and very bright. The only thing is that the colors in this palette is rather all over the place I mean you can't really guess if is about the purples or blues, oranges or plums. This palette has a little bit of everything.

Here are a bunch of random swatches I didn't want to do 24 swatches as that would be a heck of a lot of pictures so it didnt end up to be picture heavy post.

In the picture above I did 12 swatches of the brightest eyeshadows in the palette or the ones the caught my attention the most. One is indoors and the second one outdoors.

The price for this palette was $2.99 and I found it at my local makeup warehouse. Yay lucky me!! To my surprise there are two other palettes with different shades and matte! Of course i'll be doing a review on those as well.

I hope you have liked this review and gone through this long post ... Thanks for reading and take care xoxo

Maybelline EyeStudio Quad in 810 Green With Fashion Swatches & Review

Hello There Ladies

Today I'm very excited toying with this new quad palette. Maybelline has come up with makeup that is worth picking up and this quad was no exception.

I love this Eyestudio line products in general from eyeshadows to gel liners and even their lipsticks.

In this post I'll be talking about the limited edition quad called 810 Green with Fashion not to be confused with another quad named Green with Envy which I'll do a review soon with it.

This quad is all about the greens and the neutral shades like the first two.  This quad comes with the ever forgetful useless sponge tip applicators that every company waste their time on adding. Seriously I think that barely anybody uses this sponges anymore.

On the picture below you can see the back cover with more information about the product along with the ingredients that are listed as well.

The packaging on this quad and in general is sturdy and very compact, which makes it easier to travel with if necessary. The slot of each eyeshadow pot is big enough for any brush to fit, as it is not too small but just the perfect size.

The pigmentation of these eyeshadow are impeccable and really worth getting it, as it is opaque enough to cover with just a single swipe, not to mention of how easy it is to blend.

1. Is a light beige very good for blending
2. Is a light shimmery golden looks a bit metallic.
3. Is a shimmery turquoise green
4. Is a blackened green with golden green shimmer

Since this is a limited edition quad I don't think it can be found any longer but if you do, you are definately lucky! This quad came out with the Maybelline’s “Scene on the Runway” Collection in which was released for the Fall collection from 2011.

I hope you have liked this post and thanks so very much for reading ... Take care xoxo

Wet N Wild 8 Pan Palette : 738 Comfort Zone Review & Swatches

Hello There my Lovelies:

Today I have a review of my all time and most used palette from Wet N Wild 8 pan palette which is the Comfort Zone. I'm sure there must be a bazillions reviews but I want to do my own.

This palette is so versatile and you can do endless looks from neutral to smokey wearable looks very appropriate for office. I have done a few looks using this palette which can be found here here.

This palette has 8 eyeshadows 4 on each column. This palette is a shimmery palette and some has glitter on them which is not transferable onto your eye but my swatches they decided to show up. For this palette I would have wish to have matte shades at least the browbone shades but that's no problem at all, I like the palette anyways :)

LEFT COLUMN:

- Browbone: is a champagney cream. This is a M.A.C dupe to 'Ricepaper'.

- Eyelid: is a peachy bronze. This is an 'All That Glitters' dupe by M.A.C.

- Crease: is a medium bronzey brown

- Definer: is a deep plummy brown with purple shimmer. This is a dupe for MAC 'Beauty Marked'

Swatches from Left to Right - Browbone, Eyelid, Crease, Definer.

RIGHT COLUMN:

- Browbone: this is a nice Taupey color.

- Eyelid: this is a light yellowish green. This is a MAC dupe for 'Sumptous Olive'

- Crease: is a shimmery blackish green

- Definer: this is a awesomely duochrome eyeshadow shifts from bluish teal to brown plummy shade. This is a dupe for MAC 'Club'

Swatches from Left to Right: Browbone, Eyelid, Crease, Definer.

I seriously love this palette as you could tell this has about 5 eyeshadows that are dupe for MAC eyeshadows which is rare to find in a single palette let alone on a very affordable brand like Wet N Wild and not to mention the amazing pigmentation of this eyeshadows. Any makeup lover should have this palette if not all three one called Blue Had Me at Hello and the Petal Pusher palette by wet n wild. They can be found at Walmart for $4.49 (how insane is that) I could not be any more happy with this palette.

I hope you liked this post .... Thanks for reading and take care xoxo

FOTD: Painted Purple

Hello There My Ladies:

Today I finally had the time to post a makeup look, I always do makeup but I often forget to take pictures and when I take my makeup off is when I remember to have taken a picture.

As you may or not know my Favourite color is purple and I haven't done a look in quite sometime using purples. I think that purple is the often flattering color for brown eyes as it makes it pop bringing out the brown color out of your eyes.

3. NYX Single Eyeshadow in Eggplant (applied all over the lid passing the crease)
4. Nars Single Eyeshadow in Daphne (applied in a V shape 1/3 of the outer crease and blending it with Eggplant)
5. Profound Matte Palette in 02 ( used beige or skin color to blend out hard edges as to highlight the brow bone)

7. Maybelline The Falsies Mascara Waterproof
8. Wet n' Wild Brow/Liner Pencil in Taupe (to fill in eyebrows)

The Balm Shady Lady Vol. 2 Review

Hello There Ladies!!

Today I have a review of the Shady Lady by the Balm Vol. 2

I'm really exicted to show you this palette as it is versatile and wonderfully pigmented eyeshadow. On the picture below you can see the cover of the palette. With a Zebra print and the famous woman figure that the balm usually portrays.

On the picture below you can see the back cover of the palette following the same Zebra pattern as well showing you the name if each shadow. Also, just so your aware the ingredients are also visible.

Here comes the fun part the eyeshadows itself. The eyeshadow palette contains 9 shadows from bold and bright to soft and earthy colors.

- Caught in the Act Courtney: is a dark chocolate brown with a shimmery copper.

- Feisty Felicia: is a dark plum-ish black with silver shimmer

- Insane Jane: is a dark taupe brown with a green undertone

- Bossy Bobbi: Navy teal blue shimmer

- Makeout Mary: is an olive green with a golden sheen to it.

- Just This once Jamie: is a mauve-ish medium pink

- Mischievious Marissa: is a muted orange ( the reason why I bought the palette, the color is amazing)

- Tempting Tara: is a white frosty shadow.

- Devilish Danielle: is a champagney peach with a frosty finish.

This palette was found at Rexall store for $36. This palette can also be found at sephora however it's only online where you can buy it as I've checked a few stores and the balm cosmetics is not sold. If you decide to buy it online they are sold for $56, a bit ridiculous if you ask me. Rexall do have great offers and you can get cheaper as I did, I took advantage of BOGO free sale.

I hope you have liked this review, thanks for reading and take care xoxo

NYX 10 Color Eyeshadow Palette : Runway Collection in Velvet Rope

Hi There My Lovelies!

Today I have a review and swatches of these eyeshadows. NYX cosmetics is not a brand where it can be easily found in Canada except Rexall. Even at Rexall is not that many products that they carry and these palettes are not one of those products.
NYX cosmetics is a pretty good brand, just like any other brand that they have they're ups and downs.
These palette is a purple fans dream and I'm one of them. This palette is called Velvet Rope ( what kind of a name is that?) I think that the name is very lame, at least they should've come up with something more meaningful. What do you think? I would've named it .... Hmmm purple obsession ... Or maybe?!?! Hmm I didn't know that name picking was hard ... Ok let's move on then lol

This palette comes with 10 eyeshadows ranging from the lightest to the darkest purple, also has a big mirror that can be used, as it is big enough for makeup application.

Here in this picture can be seen the different shading of the eyeshadows in details. Also you can see a slot for the sponge tip applicator that every company bothers to add into their palettes, even if they are useless, simply because these applicators doesn't apply makeup flawlessly.

First Row: is a very much shades of purple except the second eyeshadow which is a dark navy purple, which is kind of unexpected and not commonly seen, none the less is a very pretty unique color. The last color has some finely milled glitter which is quite transferable to the Application not like Shadowy lady by Mac in which all the glitter isn't transferable at all; and you just end up with another dark purple eyeshadow, more like black to be honest!

Second Row: this row has two shades of purple. The second eyeshadow in this row tends to lean into a frosty pinky lavender shade which is very pretty. The fourth color is a very dark black purple very nice to do a smokey eye. And the last one is a frosty pink.

Overall I like this palette a lot, the pigmentation is phenomenal in very single eyeshadow in the palette and there is simply no let down at all. I really recommend this palette if you have access to it for purchasing.

I bought this palette along with Champagne and Caviar palette from the same collection, I ordered it online from eBay and with shipping and all it cost about $18 -$20 which is not bad at all. I have mine for around two years so I don't know how prices has fluctuated during this time.

I hope you have liked this post please like me on Facebook or follow me on I Instagram both at canadianbeautyfinds ... Take care xoxo

Marcelle Eyeshadow Palette Spring 2013 Review.

Hello there my lovelies:

Today I have Marcelle's Eyeshadow pallette for spring.
Marcelle Cosmetics is a Canadian women’s trustworthy beauty partner for almost 75 years, Marcelle is the cosmetics and skin care brand that offers every woman high quality, effective and affordable products. Hypoallergenic and perfume-free; women of all ages believe in Marcelle products. Marcelle has also made a partnership with Annabelle Cosmetics. Want to know more visit Marcelle.com

A couple Saturdays ago I found this palette on display and it was available for swatching at my local Shoppers Drugmart, with a nice display stand which can be found in the picture below:

The packaging for this palette is very common, it has a sleek black compact case. I could've wish for a more spring like packaging.

The eyeshadows looked very appealing and I was very drawn to it. This palette has 3 face highlighters and 9 eyeshadows. The colors are very diverse it has purple, pink, charcoal, off white, dark green.

When I started swatching I found it to be very creamy but not pigmented specially the lightest; off white eyeshadow on the left corner first row.

.

Overall I thought that this palette could've been better just because their partner Annabelle cosmetics usually do creamy stunningly pigmented eyeshadows. Out of the 9 eyeshadow the only one that is lacking pigmentation is the off white color. All the other color are very creamy and pigmented as you can tell by the swatches. Some needed more swipes than others. The darker eyeshadows were pigmented whereas the lighter ones required a few swipes.

This palettes are available at Shoppers Drugmart and Rexall. This is retailed for $15.99.

Have you thought of picking this palette up?

Thanks for reading, I hope you come by and like me on Facebook or follow me on Instagram for the latest mani @ canadianbeautyfinds ... Take care xoxo

FOTD: Walking On Eggshells Feat. Wet n' Wild Trio Palette

Hello my lovely readers:

Today is the first day of spring! I was very excited for this day until I saw outside the window and it was snowing. Snow? Are you kidding me? Ugh I'm so disappointed at our dear groundhog for miscalculating.

For this look I used the Wet n' Wild Trio in Walking on Eggshell. This is a super duper affordable trio for just $2.47, I bought mine at Walmart.

FOTD: Valentine Strawberry Shortcake Makeup Look

Hi lovelies,

Happy Valentines day!!! I made this look thinking of valentine and out of all the looks I've done I really like this one, this is a more subtle makeup look, a little smokey but very daytime wearable that can be worn to go to school, work or if you are running for errands. This is a look thats very easy to achieve. I also did a wing so it could elongate my eyes and not make it to appear to have smaller eyes. As well I did fill in my eyebrows but it was in the color blond so it kind of washed out my brows a bit. This reminded me of a valentines look because of the light peachy pink eyeshadow, also it reminded me more like a strawberry shortcake just because of the light pink frosting they use haha.

Products Used:

EYES:

1. Too Faced Shadow Insurance
2. Lise Watier in Pêche Melba
3, L'oreal Infallible Eyeshadow in Forever Pink (used on 3/4 lid)
4. Wet N Wild 8 Pan Palette in 738 Comfort Zone
- Definer (used on 1/4 lid and crease)
- Crease (blend out crease color)
- Brow bone
5. L'oreal Telescopic Waterproof Eyeliner in Black
6. L'oreal Million Lashes & Maybelline Falsies in Flared
7. Annabelle Smoothliner in Bronze (lower lash line)
8. Clinique Bottom Lashes

Quo Makeup Palette Holiday Collection 2012

Hi my Lovelies,

Today is the day I've been waiting for ... Why? Because is my birthday wooohooo!
And what did I do? Nothing just buy some presents for myself :) makeup of course!

For a long while I always wanted the most popular UD Naked palette. The palette is one of the most versatile palette ever, an you can find tonnes of tutorials on YouTube. So I went to Sephora and found out it for $60 CND plus tax (ughh I hate that you have to add taxes to everything I don't know why it isn't  already include in it) anyways so I was bummed and decided not to get it, so I guess I settled for the mostly raved Nude'tude Palettle by The Balm ($36 at Rexall) which is a bit more cheaper but I still wanted that damn palette. Months later ... I googled dupes for the naked palette and came across a Canadian blogger which name I forgot and said that Quo (which is a Canadian brand) was coming out with a dupe for the naked palette, so the next day I went to Shoppers Drugmart and saw that same display that I have seen about couple weeks ago and saw the palette and bought it for only $25 :)

What does Quo say:
Nothing is as beautiful as a natural you! Highlight your existing beauty with this collection of 12 eyeshadow colors from light and barely there to intense brown and smokey tones to amplify your eyes. Also includes a full size special edition eye shadow brush.

With out further a do here it is :

The palette is by Quo and the name is Back to Basics the cover is very fancy looking with its embroidery design in gold in a black background.

The inside look of it! Also you can see the brush in the slot made for it haha, since we are talking about the brush i can say is quite decent, although I would like for quo name to be printed on the brush since they're regular line brushes do, and a big mirror which can be comfortable for makeup application.  As well it has magnets to hold shut the cover one in each corner.

On the inside it has 12 eyeshadow colors all in the neutral family ranging from light to deep browns, black and a silver color. It has 3 matte shades 1 metallic, 1 sparkly and the rest are shimmery.
