Essie Leading Lady (winter collection 2012)

Hi lovelies,

It been some time since I haven't updated any post. The holiday season do take your time but it also reminds of things you really care about Family! If you are reading I hope you had an amazing Christmas Day and Shopping day here in Canada on Boxing Day. I did go 'boxing' as I call it, after couple of years of not going. I went to the mall and bought some stuff at Bath & Body Works which I love, as well as se other stores ... Hahaha I love this time of year!

Onto my nail polish of the day which is Essie Leading Lady. This polish came out as their recently launch of their winter collection. This and where's my chauffeur I got from the whole collection, while the other color were very nice I just thought this were the most unique ones.

Leading lady it has a red base with lots of finely milled glitter. Application is not the best because it applies sheer and very patchy and you cannot go over it because it takes away the previous polish stroke and this is only on the first coat. By the second coat it covers a bit more so you need 3 coats. Once your manicure applied it looks like the base was actually black and red glitter. Overall I like the color I dislike the application it becomes a pain (in the you know where lol)

Until next time enjoy the holidays!!!

*Series I Would Love To Hate : Revlon Bitten Kissable Balm Stain

Today I have a new post (duh!) I wanted to blog yesterday because it was 12/12/12 the last time we'll ever see this numbering EVER! But I was quite busy and when I remembered it was too late, because once you have a kid you barely have time to yourself. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention i have an almost 3 year old toddler and he just began potty training so that takes me lots of time since he wants to pee every minute, but I'm happy because he is a big kid now!

I have a love/hate relationship with this lip balm stain by Revlon, in which had a big hype all I over the YouTube and blogging community. The first one to come up with this idea was Clinique but they are quite expensive, so I guess Revlon and now Covergirl want to do they're own drugstore version. I bought the color 015 Cherish which is a light pink color (which I have been gravitating towards lately) it has a minty smell to it but not strong, it's actually feels quite pleasant like you just brushed your teeth haha! Application wise it's smooth and twist able (thank god you don't have to sharpen it) and it last a good amount on your lips but I find that they dry my lips and cracks them not to the point of bleeding or that they are very dry is just that it just looks wrinkled and just weird if I try to reapply it. However if I apply Chapstick under it, it feels normal just like a stain would. I also don't think that $8.99 is the appropriate amount I just think they are overpriced, if they go on sale I might just buy some more but in the mean time I won't be repurchasing I rather stick to my baby lips by Maybelline because they are cheaper and I have a few and I like them better than Revlon Kissable Stain.

Manicure Monday: Nubar Purple Beach

Today I have a nail polish of the week which is Nubar Purple beach. This is a duo chrome nail polish it changes color every time you move your hands. This is a silver that changed to purple and you can also see pink and green.
This was quite sheer at first but once you apply your second coat it gets pretty evened out. I seriously love this polish.

Nubar is not sold in Canada unless you buy it from nailpolishcanada.com. I've never bought anything from this website but I'm very curious to do so since they do ship it for free if you spend over $25. I bought this polish from an eBay seller for $8 with shipping. If you are looking for a duo or multi chrome nail polish, go for this shade I know you won't regret it haha.

New* Series I Would Love To Hate: Revlon Lip Butters

Today I had an inspiration and I came up with a new idea for my blog, more like a series; maybe is not the most unique idea but is something I would like to do.
This series is about products that have a great hype and makes you want to try it out but then you are a bit disappointed but then you like it but you don't but still you keep buying it (am I making any sense?) to be precise you have a love/hate relationship with it.
Revlon lip butters come in a variety of colors, of all the colors I bought two.

The first one is Peach Parfait. Everyone's favorite but mine. I dislike it very much. I don't like the texture it's very glittery which can be felt on the lips and not moisturizing at all. My lips are a bit on the rosy side so I can't see any peach tint.
Left = Peach Parfait. Right = Cupcake

The second one is Cupcake. This shade is much more to my liking. This one is quite moisturizing and has a pale pink tint to it which I've been gravitating towards lately. Now, this comes to a question would I recommend it, would I buy anymore? I guess some shades are better than others . Overall they are okay, I seriously don't understand the hype though but is worth trying. I also like the packaging I find it quite neat and looks like a higher end product.
You can find them at your local drugstore for $8.99 CND.

Left = Peach Parfait. Right = Cupcake

until my next post ... take care ;)

Annabelle eye Kohl Eyeliners Swatches and Review!

Hi lovelies,

Today is all Annabelle Kohl eyeliners. As my last post was all about smooth liners. If you want to see that post click here . I forgot to mention that they are very much the same as the 24/7 eyeliners by Urban Decay at the fraction of the cost. They are very creamy but they do last a long time and once set the only way to remove is with a makeup remover.cream.

The kohl eyeliners are oppposite because they are on the dryer side but I guess that's with any kohl pencil. They are very good staying in place on the waterline. The color selection is quite wide about 10 shades plus haha, to tell you the truth I haven't counted them. The price of them are around $3.99 at Walmart but at Shoppers Drugmart are pricier as well at Rexall. However, at Shoppers Drugmart they do go on sale as low as $2.99 each either kohl or the Smoothliner, which I have taken advantage of and bought them haha (why not right?) Also, while swatching I found that Annabelle throughout the months they have reformulated and changed their packaging. Their newest packaging is a lot better as well the quality of the pencil they swatched a lot smoother then their old ones, the oldest ones were a lot drier.

Here I've taken pics of what the wall looks like at Walmart with prices, sorry about the quality of the picture I took it with my IPod Touch.

Here are the swatches for all the pencil Eyeliners I have: Enjoy!

                                                                          Old Packaging!

                                                                        Old Packaging!

This is the only Metallic shade I have. I should pick some more right?!!

What do you guys think about the shades, would you buy any???

Annabelle Smoothliner Eyeliner Pencil Review and Swatches

Hi lovelies,

Today's post is something I wanted to do as long as I wanted to do blogging. As you can tell by the tittle , Annabelle eyeliner pencils has been a favorite of mine since I started wearing makeup. Annabelle is a Canadian brand of cosmetics that has been stepping up in the makeup industry to stay competitive in the business. Not only their makeup quality is amazing but the price is unbeatable. I sometimes have compare them to MAC in the eyeshadow department and Urban Decay in their eyeliner pencil department. The only thing that these big companies have in common with Annabelle is quality and although Annabelle has a range of color selection is not as wide as MAC or Urban Decay.
You may ask why would I want to do this post quite badly? Well, no matter how in love with a product I may be, I still google it and see how it looks and what others think about and I also like to see swatches, but not many bloggers have made in depth review and/or many swatches of the many eyeliner color they have.

What does Annabelle claim to be?Annabelle claims to be the leading brand in eyeliner sales in Canada.

What products do they make?
Annabelle makes Metallic and Regular Kohl Eyeliner, and Smoothliner ( Waterproof + Long Lasting) All of their products are hypo-allergenic.

In order not to be picture heavy I'll be doing 2 posts. Today you'll see the Smoothliner and on my next post which is here  for the Kohl eyeliners.

So what do you think would you pick any of these pencils? Or do you have any? Well I do hope that you liked this post ... Take care!!!

NOTD Wet n' Wild Nail polish Lavender Pearl

Hi Lovelies,

Well today I have a quick post. It's been a few days since I haven't posted anything. I really missed not writing anything but I guess time wasn't on my side, so talking about nails will do haha!

Wet n' Wild cosmetics has hits and miss products is those kind of company whether you other love or hate them, we'll I guess not entirely because it goes by products eh? Anyways their I hate their nail polish but I love their colors selection and not only that but their affordability it gives you second and third and so on thoughts hahaha. Walmart sells them for $1.57 however they do go on sale for $1.00 but I've seen them at Dollarama ( dollar tree in US) for $1-1.25 no matter how many cents cheaper it is between places it is very cheap. Onto the product of the day is from the the Wild Shine line called Lavender Pearl C420B. This polish is not lavender is mostly pink I guess you can say it has lavender undertones, it dries semi matte and just a bit streaky. But it's not annoyingly streaky though. You definitely need a Top Coat to look shiny, although most polishes from this line took a matter of hours to peel off my nails, this one in particular lasted about 6 days wear and of course it wore off my tips but that happens with most nail polishes, so I highly recommend this color plus a really pretty polish that will make you wanna look look at it few times a day.

Till my next post ... Cya

NOTD China glaze Westside Warrior

Hi lovelies,

Well today I have a post about my current Nail Polish. I love nail polishes I think it makes my hand look a lot more girly and polished. However I definitely do not know how to paint properly my nails no matter how much clean up I do or carefully I go. All in all they look quite decent but person than in pictures.

By the tittle today you may have noticed is China Glaze Westside Warrior from the Fall Collection 2011 called Metro Downtown Collection. This is a deep military green which can be a 1 coater but to be on the safe side I did 2 coats plus a top coat to make it extra shiny and make our manicure last longer, however if you are mostly asking about shininess it doesn't really needed because the polish itself is very shiny. The longevity of the polish is outstanding it does last a week, but on my nails I can see bare tips on day 1, the good thing is that it remains like that throughout the whole week.

Where can you find China Glaze in Canada? Well at Sally Beauty Supply if not you can order them from eBay in which I did. I found a seller in which sells genuine polishes for very reasonable price and shipping, if you want to know anything about this seller let me know!

Swatches of Westside Warrior.

This polish is indeed very nice, very vibrant, Also it reminds me of another nail polish by Kleancolor called 105 Military Green, want to see more of it, click here. They are not dupes but definitely an alternative.

Thanks for stopping by ... take care!!!

Quo Makeup Palette Holiday Collection 2012

Hi my Lovelies,

Today is the day I've been waiting for ... Why? Because is my birthday wooohooo!
And what did I do? Nothing just buy some presents for myself :) makeup of course!

For a long while I always wanted the most popular UD Naked palette. The palette is one of the most versatile palette ever, an you can find tonnes of tutorials on YouTube. So I went to Sephora and found out it for $60 CND plus tax (ughh I hate that you have to add taxes to everything I don't know why it isn't  already include in it) anyways so I was bummed and decided not to get it, so I guess I settled for the mostly raved Nude'tude Palettle by The Balm ($36 at Rexall) which is a bit more cheaper but I still wanted that damn palette. Months later ... I googled dupes for the naked palette and came across a Canadian blogger which name I forgot and said that Quo (which is a Canadian brand) was coming out with a dupe for the naked palette, so the next day I went to Shoppers Drugmart and saw that same display that I have seen about couple weeks ago and saw the palette and bought it for only $25 :)

What does Quo say:
Nothing is as beautiful as a natural you! Highlight your existing beauty with this collection of 12 eyeshadow colors from light and barely there to intense brown and smokey tones to amplify your eyes. Also includes a full size special edition eye shadow brush.

With out further a do here it is :

The palette is by Quo and the name is Back to Basics the cover is very fancy looking with its embroidery design in gold in a black background.

The inside look of it! Also you can see the brush in the slot made for it haha, since we are talking about the brush i can say is quite decent, although I would like for quo name to be printed on the brush since they're regular line brushes do, and a big mirror which can be comfortable for makeup application.  As well it has magnets to hold shut the cover one in each corner.

On the inside it has 12 eyeshadow colors all in the neutral family ranging from light to deep browns, black and a silver color. It has 3 matte shades 1 metallic, 1 sparkly and the rest are shimmery.

Yay I'm a blogger!!

Hi there! Today is the day that I finally join the family of blogging. For quite some time I've been contemplating blogging. On my Internet browsing years I've seen a lot of blogs some fantastic, some entertaining and some were just ok. I was really studying myself and I came across a question why would people read my blog? specially since is going to be about beauty related topics; And then I came to a conclusion. Well simply because, I being a beauty hunter I find products that are very good, affordable and people don't know them. I also started doing YouTube videos for a very short time however, due to my lack of video knowledge and equipment I didn't continue making anymore if your interested my name is purple87star. Anyways back to my beauty finds, as I was saying the products that i find are very affordable and easy to find here in Canada which is where I'm located. Another answer to my question is that before I make any purchases of any sort (beauty products that is) I google them, and then depending on the review, pictures of swatches I buy them. However some products that i find and i want to know more about it and google them has very little or no information at all, and if i go to that maker company it doesn't have information on the product, since is very weird because they are selling it putting they're name out there and no info at all about it. Anyways that's why I decided to start my own.

Ok, ok I should stop explaining and justifying myself haha.

Till my next post take care hope you come back soon!
