FOTD: Smokey Cinnamon Pumpkin Look!!

Hello my lovelies:

This look is not an everyday look but I really like it, orange is not a very wearable color but I really would like to challenge myself and see what other combination I can do with an orange eyeshadow, also I noticed that it wasn't blended enough on the crease area and that's because I did it in a hurry, I hope you don't mind :|

Products Used:

1. Urban Decay Primer Potion
2. Maybelline Color Tattoo in Fierce & Tangy
3. M.A.C e/s in Orange (all over the lid)
4. Covergirl Professional Eye Color Enhancer in Hazelnut (on the crease and 1/4 outer lid)
5. M.A.C e/s in Carbon (1/4 just outer corner for smokey effect)
6. L'oreal Voluminous Million Lashes & L'oreal Voluminous in Carbon Black
7. N.Y.C. Liquid eyeliner pen in Black
8. Urban Decay 24/7 pencil in Zero (waterline)

I hope you liked this look, I think this is more suitable for fall as orange is a fall color, but if you are a person that don't follow any season or you just wear it because you feel like it then join my club haha.

Anyways I hope you check me out on Instagram and Facebook @ canadianbeautyfinds I usually post my manicure there then I'll later blog about it ... crazy I know!! Take care xoxo

Manicure Monday: Quo by Orly in Night Sky

Hello there my lovelies:

Today I have another post of Mani Mondays. I have an American Canadian nail polish brand. As you may (or not) know Orly teamed up with Quo to come up with a line of nail polishes back in 2011. I never bought any of these polishes just because they are a bit overpriced sold for $10 (although Essie, OPI are around same price and I still buy them, I don't know why I think Quo by Orly is overprice since Orly is around same price too. )
Anyways i decided to grab this beauty for $4.99 as it was yellow ticketed as Reduced. I couldn't pass up the opportunity and decided to get it.

Night Sky: Dark purple with purple and violet shimmer.

For photo above I did two coats of Night Sky as well i added top coat. The first coat was very patchy but second coat evened it out completely. Drying time was very quick, it was a trouble free application. I also noticed that in the bottle looks a bit duo chrome-ish with green flashes . The green flash is not translated onto the nail is just mostly dark purple base with violet shimmer. This is a very stunning shade I really enjoyed it.

Do you own any polishes from this brand, if so what colors do you recommend?

Marcelle Eyeshadow Palette Spring 2013 Review.

Hello there my lovelies:

Today I have Marcelle's Eyeshadow pallette for spring.
Marcelle Cosmetics is a Canadian women’s trustworthy beauty partner for almost 75 years, Marcelle is the cosmetics and skin care brand that offers every woman high quality, effective and affordable products. Hypoallergenic and perfume-free; women of all ages believe in Marcelle products. Marcelle has also made a partnership with Annabelle Cosmetics. Want to know more visit Marcelle.com

A couple Saturdays ago I found this palette on display and it was available for swatching at my local Shoppers Drugmart, with a nice display stand which can be found in the picture below:

The packaging for this palette is very common, it has a sleek black compact case. I could've wish for a more spring like packaging.

The eyeshadows looked very appealing and I was very drawn to it. This palette has 3 face highlighters and 9 eyeshadows. The colors are very diverse it has purple, pink, charcoal, off white, dark green.

When I started swatching I found it to be very creamy but not pigmented specially the lightest; off white eyeshadow on the left corner first row.

.

Overall I thought that this palette could've been better just because their partner Annabelle cosmetics usually do creamy stunningly pigmented eyeshadows. Out of the 9 eyeshadow the only one that is lacking pigmentation is the off white color. All the other color are very creamy and pigmented as you can tell by the swatches. Some needed more swipes than others. The darker eyeshadows were pigmented whereas the lighter ones required a few swipes.

This palettes are available at Shoppers Drugmart and Rexall. This is retailed for $15.99.

Have you thought of picking this palette up?

FOTD: Walking On Eggshells Feat. Wet n' Wild Trio Palette

Hello my lovely readers:

Today is the first day of spring! I was very excited for this day until I saw outside the window and it was snowing. Snow? Are you kidding me? Ugh I'm so disappointed at our dear groundhog for miscalculating.

Anyways due to my dissapointment I wanted to do a more clean very wearable makeup since most people are able to try it out mostly. This is my first time trying it out and I quite like it.
For this look I used the Wet n' Wild Trio in Walking on Eggshell. This is a super duper affordable trio for just $2.47, I bought mine at Walmart.

**Sorry the photo below shows a crappy wing liner but that's not the case because I was in a hurry and I applied a sloppy mascara application and it went toward my liner on my left eye ... Please disregard my boboos :)

Products Used:

EYES:

1. Too Faced Shadow Insurance
2. Maybelline Metal Color Tattoo in Barely Branded.
3. Wet n' Wild Trio
- Lid
- Crease
- Browbone
4. Profusion 24 Matte Palette
- brown (on crease to darken 1/4 of lid to make it a bit smokey)
5. Gosh Eye Liner Pen in Brown

7. Wet n' Wild Color Icon Pencil in Mink Brown (used on waterline and fill in brows)
8. Essence Lash/Brow Gel

Manicure Monday: Essence Color & Go 116 Gorgeous Bling Bling

Today I have this gorgeous nail polish color that is so unique and is by essence. I noticed as well that they changed their bottle design and made a little bigger and a bit fancier. The cap also reflects the polish inside very well, and I'm also loving the brush is wider, making application easier and have more control to maneuver.

116 Gorgeous Bling Bling: is a burnt orange with noticeable gold flecks.

The formula was good making it easy to apply and only needed two coats and it lasted throughout the whole week, of course it was top coated with Seche Vite Top Coat.

Essence is only sold at selected Shoppers Drugmart because I've been to a few of the stores and I've only seen them in a couple so you have to check around your area to see which store carries Essence cosmetics. This brand is very affordable and is gained so much popularity for how good they're products are at such a cheap cost.

The nail polishes are sold at $1.99 each but just before the bottle change they were sold at $1.49. I really don't mind paying the difference.

So what do you guys think of the brand Essence? How many of their polishes do you own?

Until my next post, take care and don't forget to follow me on Instagram for the latest nail polishes or like me on Facebook @ canadianbeautyfinds ... Thanks in advance!!!

Smokey St. Patrick's Look!!!

Hello there my lovelies:

Happy St. Patricks Day!!! So today I have a Green eye look, St. Patrick's color and I'm using drugstore makeup. For this look i picked a very bright green pigment, which I'm very much in love with. Also is a great color because it pops the brown color of one's eye ;)
I know this is a very bright eye look but I'm not afraid of color, I like wearing bright eyeshadow but wearable. I used the L'oreal H.I.P eyeshadow duo, I really like them a lot, so much that I have at least a dozen of duo pots (a bit much I know!) this duos are sold at any drugstore for $9, but they do go on sale, i bought these for $2.99 each, which makes really affordable. For this look I used 2 set of duos which you can see on my product list down below.

Products used:

EYES:

1. Prestige Primed & Ready Eye Primer
2. Maybelline Color Tattoo in Edgy Emerald
3. L'oreal HIP eyeshadow Duo
- 308 Lively (green side all over lid)
- 836 Shady (light brown sweep all over crease to blend out )
4. L'oreal HIP Pigment in 314 Rebel (applied on mid lid for brightness)

FACE:

1. Maybelline BB Cream in Medium/Dark
2. MAC pressed powder in NC 40
3. Sephora Blush Me! In Framboise Attraction # 3

*Series I Would Love to Hate: Urban Decay Primer Potion

Hello there my lovelies:

Today I'll do a review on the most talked about primer ever. Everyone has it from YouTube gurus, bloggers, makeup artists, to name a few.

My experience with makeup I remember I used to wear eyeshadows and half an hour later you could see a visible line in my eyes and I would hate it, and I asked myself does everyone experience it? Or is it just me. I remember seeing girls at my school wear eyeshadow and I would see their eyeshadows intact.
A few years after that I started watching YouTube videos to learn more about makeup and I use to hear UDPP promising that it doesn't crease and that it was the best thing ever. So I bought it at Sephora (my very first purchase ever) for $24. I couldn't believe how expensive it was but regardless I still bought it.

I started using it and I was impressed that I didn't see my eyeshadows crease after half an hour or 2,3,4,5. I noticed though that after 6 hours of wear it would crease. I was still impressed though, but i remember that it suppose to last all day, not 6 hours!!

So now I use eyeshadow cream as a base like Maybelline Color Tattoo to get more vibrancy of the eyeshadows, thank god that it goes hand in hand with my UDPP as it last longer.

I have a love/hate relationship with it, and I don't Think I'll purchase another just because I rather use my Too Faced Shadow Insurance or my Prestige Primer.

Also, it pains me to say that E.L.F eye primer lid could be a dupe for UDPP as it acts the same for me and is only $1.

Manicure Monday: Sally Hansen 10 days No Chip Bodoir

Hello there my lovelies:

Well today I have Sally Hansen nail polish I usually buy the Xtreme, Hard As Nails, Insta-Dri line. This is the 10 days nail No Chip polish. I haven't seen this line anywhere I don't know whether its been recently discontinued or has been for some time.

This beauty was found at a Chinese mall and there was this store that was selling all kinds of nail polishes most of them Sally Hansen for $1.99 or 5 for $5.

Bodoir: This is a hard one to describe. Green mustard with multi colored micro glitter, but you can mainly see pink, green, yellow finely milled glitter. I hope I described it even remotely close.

It advertises that it could last up to 10 days but I don't know since I added a top coat and I removed it on the 7th day. The application was very smooth except that it bubbled. I'm not sure whether it was because I was rushing my application or it was the formula. Photo above took 2 coats. First coat was sheer but second coat reached full opacity.

I wish I could come across this line again, maybe there are some other good unique colors, like this one because its pretty damn unique haha.

So do you know anything about this line? Have you come across this color, if so do you like it?

Thanks for reading and don't to forget to check out and follow me on Instagram for my latest manicure or Facebook for latest update post @canadianbeautyfinds ... Take care and thanks in advance!!!

Maybelline 24 Hr Metal Color Tattoo Review

Hola Mis Bellezas:

Happy International Women's Day!!!!! Wooohooo a day dedicated to us women. I think it should be everyday as many of us can agree, that it is hard to be a woman since we face many struggles everyday as we brake barriers. Anywho, cheers to us!!!!

Today i have the Maybelline color Tattoo and let me tell you they are my favorite. I used them every time I wear makeup as my eye bases. My lids are very oily and crease a lot, so I put eyeshadow to prevent creasing, as well I wear a primer prior to its application like UDPP, Too Faced Insurance or Prestige Primer to name a few.

As of December of last year Maybelline came out with their Metal version of the color tattoo. I was excited that when I saw it at the store I bought three, not knowing they were not limited edition. Later that day the first post from maybelline I saw on my Facebook were the Metal Color Tattoo ad which can be seen on the photo below.

Maybelline Metal Color Tatto ad.

I was surprised that these line came out in Canada first, before launching either in the U.S or Europe. Yay for Canada!!

Maybelline came with 5 colors: 55 Inked in Pink, 60 Silver Strike, 65 Gold Rush, 70 Barely Branded, 75 Electric Blue.

I however, bought 3 out of the 5, the One i didnt buy was 65 Gold Rush just because it looks very similar to Gold Bold which I own, so why have two gold when I rarely use that color. In case it goes on sale I might consider to buy.

However the color I just recently got my paws on was 70 barely branded at Shoppers Drugmart, I've been searching for this color since it came out, but not until this past Sunday that I found it!!!

I also like the feature that you can turn them upside down to see the color.

Here they are without the lid, I forgot to include Barely Branded in the picture as it was brand new and had the seal still on.

55 Inked in Pink: subtle pink and very metallic like.

60 Silver Strike: silver and very metallic like.

70 Barely Branded: sheer nude with a yellow undertone and not so metallic, this is very close to barely beige in shade but with a pink undertone but cannot distinguish which one is which.

75 Electric Blue: very sheer blue and not so metallic. I had high hopes on this one but it works for me.

So, this are sold at every drugstore like Walmart, shoppers Drugmart, Rexall, etc. this are found between $7.99 to $8.99 depending where you buy.

Have you bought any Color Metal Tattoo?

I hope you have enjoyed this post don't forget to like me on Facebook and follow me on Instagram @ canadianbeautyfinds thanks in advance ... Take care xx

L'oreal Waterproof Voluminous Million Lashes Review

Hello There My Lovelies:

Today I have one of my most favorite mascara of all time. At first I hated it but I decided to give it a try. For me primer mascara don't work for me, although they do wonders with my lashes like Maybelline XXL which I did a review. I always use waterproof mascara just because washable mascara doesn't hold my curl. My lashes are thin and straight so I have to use a curler to curl them, so I would have to use a mascara that holds it up.

What this mascara does is that it holds the curl, separates my lashes and lengthens them very nicely. The reason why I disliked it at first was because it gave no volume and I like volume haha. Now, I use this mascara as a primer and I coat them first, then I coat them second time with any other mascara.

Picture below is just one coat of Voluminous Waterproof Million Lashes in 630 Blackest Black:

I wanted to include this ad with Eva Longoria advertising this mascara. I just thought it looked very nice haha. I also liked their slogan Millionize your lashes ;) or become a lash millionaire haha.

What does L'oreal say:

The Millionizer brush has a multitude of bristles to separate lashes for a fanned-out lash effect. The elastomer applicator is ultra flexible with both long and short bristles to coat each lash evenly from root to tip. The excess wiper removes excess mascara. It leaves the brush coated with just the right amount of formula to achieve maxed up volume with no overload and no clumps.
Clump-free. Smudge-proof. Ophthalmologist and allergy tested. Suitable for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers.

This is what my mascara tube looks like, it definitely seen better days, but despite of what it looks like after many uses and abuses, I like the packaging. This packaging looks quite sophisticated with the golden color tube and a single stripe in the middle with its name. I also like the feature that let's you know if you properly closed the lid, it has a click letting you know if you left it open or not, quite clever they should do that for every mascara tube so air doesn't get in.

This what the wand looks like. In person the wand looks big, at first I felt intimidated but its just perfect because it takes all my lashes at once.

The bristles are quite small but all of them has the same cut. At the very tip it has no bristles at all it's quite bare so that's something I did not expect.

So what do you guys think, do you have this mascara washable or waterproof ? I hope you liked this post. Please follow me on Instagram or like me on Facebook @ Canadianbeautyfinds ... Thanks in advance and take care!!!

Manicure Monday: Gosh 594 Miss Grey

Hello my dear readers:

Today I have Gosh nail polish 594 Miss Grey. This is the only nail polish from this brand I own. Gosh is only sold at Shoppers Drugmart. This polish is retailed at $7 but it does go on sale. I got it for $4.99 and this is in the regular line. Gosh does come up with limited edition nail polishes.

594 Miss Grey:

Application was great, it was sheer on the first coat but it took 2 coats to get full opacity. The brush is a little thin reminds me a little of Essie brushes back in the day. I am not too crazy about the color as it is a grey color with no shimmer I don't know if it can be consider a creme formula. It dries quick and has a nice shine to it, although I used Seche Vite Top Coat for longer manicure life.

In the end I added some glitter top coat to my ring finger i used Kleancolor 95 in Disco Ball and it turned very nice, I could be more happier with the color more.

Anyways thanks for reading this post, take care and don't forget to check me out both on Facebook & Instagram @ canadianbeautyfinds ... Thanks in advance :) xoxo

M.A.C Archie's Girls Collection Swatches and Review

Wow I am over the moon, I'm so excited because this is the first time I've ever bought anything from a MAC Collection. The weirdest thing is that I am not familiar with Archie's comics at all. I never paid attention to comic books before and didn't know who they were either, until I saw one of the books being sold on the side rack as I was waiting in line to cash out my items at Walmart.

Although I am not familiar with the comic book I dislike the promo picture they came up with. The girls and the guy do not represent the collection at all. Packaging is a different story as it is super cute it gives a nice touch to any girls makeup collection ;) even for decoration purposes.

For this collection they came up with 2 quads, 4 pigments, 4 lipsticks, 4 lipglosses, 2 blushes and 1MSF, and 2 eyeliners.

Out of all I bought the 2 pigments from Betty side, and Veronica's eyeliner. I didn't go too crazy.

Betty's Pigments: L-R Cheers My Dear!, Lucky In Love.

Cheers My Dear!: is a light lavender with hints of pink, with a frosty finish.

Lucky In Love: is a shimmering light blue-ish green with a frosty finish.

Bottles Bottom Showcasing their names:

Veronica's Eyeliner Pencil: Designer Purple

Designer Purple: Purple with Violet glitter. For this one you have to swatch it at least twice to get intensity.

The Packaging in close up:

The names they came up with for yhe pigments are so corky and cute except for the eyeliner, it tells me nothing with "Designer Purple".
These are now available at any M.A.C counter and they are for a limited time only. The pigments are $27.50 CND and the eyeliner for $20. To get a hold of these items I went twice. The first pigment I went to MAC store but were sold out so I went to The Bay and got Lucky in Love, then on another day went to get the eyeliner and the other pigment at the MAC store.
I'll be making looks with these items at some point because I can't wait to start using it :)

Until my next post ... Take care and don't forget to follow me on Instagram at canadianbeautyfinds as well as on Facebook!!!
