Don't Waste Your Money: Nars Single Eyeshadow in Daphne.

Hello There Ladies:

Today I have the second installment to the series which is about products that are not worth spending money specially if they are expensive, want to check out my first post click here

Nars is a high end cosmetic company and has a good reputable name in the cosmetic world but despite of it, every brand has its goods and bad's and Nars isn't the exception.

I wanted to tried their eyeshadows but as you know they are quite expensive, but I gave in and bought this one in Daphne. Nars case are similar whether eyeshadow or blushes has same black with white lettering like the photo below.

Daphne: is a matte dark violet purple

Here is how the shadow looks without flash, it shows close enough to the actual shadow.

Here is with flash the violet in the pan is showing in this picture.

I was quite disappointed I gave in for the true richness of the deep purple which is quite rare to see in an eyeshadow. I swatched it and it applies patchy and I did 3 swipes and it was still patchy. As in the picture below.

Nars can be found at Sephora and is retailed for $24. You can also check it online at www.sephora.com they do free shipping over $75.

I hope you have liked this post and maybe leave me a comment or just follow me either on Facebook or Instagram both at canadianbeautyfinds ... Thanks for reading and take care xoxo

Manicure Monday: Zoya 'Apple'

Hello there ladies:

Ok, so here it is, I really apologized for the lack of posts I've been doing is just time hasn't been on my hands. Time is really flying out if my hands and things are coming into my life that has given me no choice but to blog any day I can.

Today I have this gorgeous and amazing polish. I really love this polish that I got a few compliments for it. Also has a story and how it became the most expensive polish I've own. If you want to know the story please keep reading.

Apple: is a bright green with a golden shimmer. It looks a bit duochrome but is just the shimmer giving it a different dimension to the color.

Application: the first coat was very sheer so it took 3 coats to make it look opaque. I top coat it with China Glaze Fast Forward Top Coat.

Onto my story: so I always wanted to own a Zoya polish, but I've never found a place of sale and eBay are very expensive up to $20 per bottle plus shipping, which is a bit ridiculous since is not a very expensive brand.

So one day walking around the mall I found TradeSecrets and they sell polishes like: OPI, Misa, Essie, and Zoya.

So the only bottle I found amazingly good was Apple so I bought it for $8.60 (plus tax) on my way out I took it out of the bag fell on the floor and BAM! It broke :'( I literally cried on the inside I was so bombed. I went back to the store and I asked for a replacement they said they couldn't because when I left the store it was in good condition. I took a deep breath and I started walking away when the lady said, I can see you really liked that polish so what I can do is i can give you another one for 50% off I smiled took my wallet out and paid for it :)

All in all I was very happy with my purchased and the fact the I found a place where they sell Zoya polishes. I really like the brand and I went back to the store and bought 3 more. Again you can find Zoya at TradeSecrets or check your local mall or www.tradesecrets.ca for store locations.

Thanks for reading and don't forget to subscribe take care xoxo.

The Balm Shady Lady Vol. 2 Review

Hello There Ladies!!

Today I have a review of the Shady Lady by the Balm Vol. 2

I'm really exicted to show you this palette as it is versatile and wonderfully pigmented eyeshadow. On the picture below you can see the cover of the palette. With a Zebra print and the famous woman figure that the balm usually portrays.

On the picture below you can see the back cover of the palette following the same Zebra pattern as well showing you the name if each shadow. Also, just so your aware the ingredients are also visible.

Here comes the fun part the eyeshadows itself. The eyeshadow palette contains 9 shadows from bold and bright to soft and earthy colors.

- Caught in the Act Courtney: is a dark chocolate brown with a shimmery copper.

- Feisty Felicia: is a dark plum-ish black with silver shimmer

- Insane Jane: is a dark taupe brown with a green undertone

- Bossy Bobbi: Navy teal blue shimmer

- Makeout Mary: is an olive green with a golden sheen to it.

- Just This once Jamie: is a mauve-ish medium pink

- Mischievious Marissa: is a muted orange ( the reason why I bought the palette, the color is amazing)

- Tempting Tara: is a white frosty shadow.

- Devilish Danielle: is a champagney peach with a frosty finish.

This palette was found at Rexall store for $36. This palette can also be found at sephora however it's only online where you can buy it as I've checked a few stores and the balm cosmetics is not sold. If you decide to buy it online they are sold for $56, a bit ridiculous if you ask me. Rexall do have great offers and you can get cheaper as I did, I took advantage of BOGO free sale.

I hope you have liked this review, thanks for reading and take care xoxo

Manicure Monday: Sally Hansen Lustre Shine in 006 Lava

Hello There Ladies:

Happy Victoria Day! Today is a national holiday kind of day, and what a great way to celebrate then with a nail polish.

If you didn't know this is one of the newest line that Sally Hansen came up with, which is a line dedicated to duo or multi chrome polishes called 'Lustre Shine'. As well I recently seen that Revlon has come up with a similar idea but instead it's called 'chameleon' (I think).

Lava: Shimmery duochrome with a orangey pink flashes.

This is a very interesting shade and I really enjoyed it. Although I can say this is a more fall color polish than summer, as it reflects the color leaves change.

On the picture above can be seen the color change from pink to orange. Also this is a three coat application. The first coat was very sheer, second coat made it a bit more solid but third coat reached full opacity. The polish was a bit runny.

I hope you liked this post and hope to see you soon ... Thanks for reading and take care xoxo

Quo Summer Collection 2013 "Neon Safari"

Hello There Ladies:

Quo has recently launched a new collection, which I was looking for a name but I  was never able to find it. Due to the background picture it must be Safari related collection, since the name of some of their products has a wild name. Could the name be "Sunset Safari collection"?

Recently Quo has been working really hard, in a very short period of time has released three collections including this one, but also they launched two other collections one called Edge of Opulance and the Butterfly collection.

This collection has two eye palettes a bronzer duo and two lip glosses along with a set of brushes.

Untamed Allure Eye Palette: has 12 eyeshadows consisting of various colors from lavender, grey, blue, purple and black. This palette can definitely be used to create a smokey look. This palette is retailed at $18. Also some eyeshadow has a pattern of animal prints to it which can be seen in the picture below.

Natural Temptation Eye Palette: this is also a 12 eyeshadow set palette. This is your typical neutrals palette. The colors range from browns, pink, white, camel color. This palette has some branch looking pattern into some if the eyeshadow like you can see on the picture below. This palette is retailed at $18

Wild Glow Bronzer Duo: this set has two bronzer one is dark for contour and the other one is much lighter for your highlight. This is retailed at $15.

Now onto the Lip Glosses: for this collection they decided to put out 4. All of them look very nude-y. My only guess is that Quo was going to colors that most appeal to the ladies in which don't want a lot of color.
From Left-Right: Pink Sand, Desert Bloom, Plum Sky, Barely There. These glosses are retailed at $10 each.

I hope you have liked this mini review of the latest Quo Collection which is now available in any stores Across Canada. Remember Quo is only sold exclusively at Shoppers Drugmart.

Thanks for reading and please check out my social media like Facebook and Instagram both at canadianbeautyfinds ... xoxo

Manicure Monday: Essie Coat Azure

Hello There My Ladies:

Well today I'm back with yet another mani Monday, I still haven't forgotten this series and I'm gonna go till I run out polishes to post, which is going to be a long while.

Coat Azure: medium blue with shimmer

What does Essie say for their inspiration color:

relax as you melt into glittering ocean waters. this breathtaking medium blue nail lacquer with shimmer brushes on the perfect beachside holiday.

This polish is quite awesome I was really into the color and it had some stares from me and compliments from others, which I don't normally get.

I really love it, it took two thin coats for full opacity and it dried relatively fast. Although it mentions the shimmer in the description and also in the bottle when you look at it, don't expect it to transfer on your application because it doesn't.  This is more like a creme and very or non existent shimmer.

Coat Azure was released some time ago back in 2011 for their Spring collection, this is a very lovely spring color. This shade is available in their regular line and you can find it where Essie is sold.

Hope you have liked this nail polish as much as I did ... Thanks for reading and take care xoxo

Fit Me! Maybelline Foundation Review

Hi There My Lovelies!

Wow! I can't believe I haven't blog in about two weeks or so, did you guys miss me, maybe???

For quite sometime I wanted to review this foundation. Fit Me! Is one of my go to foundations. I really love it, this is a lightweight foundation that does an amazing job at covering your imperfections, if they are minor like some scarring of if you have a less than perfect skin. These foundation does have more coverage than your BB Cream as both of them are light to medium coverage. This foundation is build able in layers.

This is also SPF 18 which is quite nice since many of us is not really into SPF, and you don't really think is necessary to use as a daily thing in your routine. This way you don't have to remember as its already included into the foundation already.

For picture above is two bottles showcasing two shades; of course one is lighter than the second one. Originally I purchased 220 Natural Beige but it was a bit too light but 230 Natural Buff was just perfect.

Shade 220 Natural Beige is use for my foundations that I bought that are shades too dark for me and this makes me customize it to my perfect shade, specially for summer when I get darker.

What does Maybelline Fit Me! foundation promise:

- Matches natural tone
- Blends Seamlessly
- Let's skin breathe

This foundation does let your skin breathe easily and doesn't clog your pores which for someone who is acne prone skin like me, is good and doesn't affect your skin at all. Setting your makeup with a matte powder is a must, as it can look a bit shiny if your skin is an oily type.

For reference I am an NC 45 in MAC foundations.

I wish more company's can use pumps for their foundations that way it would be more easier for ladies to get products put rather than get it from a very large opening, which sometimes is really difficult because if you are in a rush and you pour more than usual and you have to put the product back into the container or you end up with too much.

Overall I really recommend this foundation rather then drugstore BB Creams.

Where can you get these foundations? Anywhere, where Maybelline is sold these range from $7.96 regular price or $5.99 on sale at any major drugstores like Walmart, Shopper Drugmart, Rexall, etc.

I Hope you have liked this post and that you follow me either on Facebook or Instagram ... Thanks and take care xoxo
